TEMPLETON, Mass. — At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Templeton Conservation Commission's agent reported several forest-cutting submissions and outcomes: a new forest-cutting plan for South Road submitted by Michael Capps, a final filing for Martin Road (off Otter River Road), and an approved forest-cutting plan for a Queen Lake Road parcel belonging to Carol Ackerman.
Agent updates also included a brief site walk at 50 Shore Drive where staff found erosion controls in place and matching the approved plans. The agent told the commission the file number was displayed and the inspection took only a few minutes.
"I don't do a lot of site walks in the snow because I can't really see anything," the conservation agent said, describing why inspections have been limited this winter. The agent characterized overall conservation activity as slow, attributing the lull to weather conditions.
Commissioners discussed the files and noted that many of the new cutting plans are "continuous" and share a single access point; staff said one final had been received and one plan was approved. The Queen Lake Road plan was presented as tied to property listed in the meeting materials as "Chapter Land." Commission members asked staff to keep the files updated as as-built plans and further permits arrive.
The commission did not take votes on these items; staff indicated the matters were progress updates and routine administrative tracking.
