MASON, Ohio — The Mason City Council on Feb. 10 adopted a consolidated property maintenance code (Ordinance 2025-13) after a year of committee work, public outreach and legal review intended to centralize scattered standards and create consistent enforcement procedures.
The rules committee led the effort, which included mailed outreach — more than 11,600 postcards to city addresses — and roughly 1,900 survey responses. Staff and outside consultant Kathy Ryan of Woodland Lamping prepared a consolidated draft to replace multiple provisions previously embedded across the codified ordinances and zoning regulations.
