Board proclaims February Career and Technical Education Month; recognizes school resource officer and junior-high champions

Student testimony and recognition Maggie Kirby, a junior at Warren Central enrolled in a CTE health science class, told trustees that the program offered hands-on experience and helped her pursue a nursing pathway. "The CTE program offers me hands-on training and knowledge that has strengthened my understanding of basic nursing skills such as CPR on adults and infants, wound care, and vital signs," Kirby said.
The board also recognized Rodney Lemmon as the district's School Resource Officer of the Year. Superintendent Tori Holloway presented a certificate and praised Lemmon's work mentoring students, supporting safety programs and attending school events. Trustees additionally presented a championship certificate and banner to the Warren Central Junior High eighth-grade boys basketball team and coaching staff in recognition of the 2024 Little 6 conference title.
Ending The proclamation passed by voice vote; trustees encouraged community support for CTE programs and acknowledged students and staff honored at the meeting.
