Lamar County School District swears in board member, re-elects officers

The new member took the oath of office during the meeting. Jeremy Chance said, "To the best of my ability, so help me God," as he completed the oath administered at the meeting.
The board first confirmed two previously elected members and then reappointed Jeremy Chance; after the reappointment the board administered the oath and continued with officer elections. A motion to keep Ginny Hensarling as president passed, as did motions to elect Lance Lefan as vice president and Shay as secretary; board members voted "Aye" on each motion and the meeting record shows the votes were unanimous.
The reorganization restored a full board roster and established the district's officer slate for the coming term. The board then moved on to routine business including minutes, financial reports, and other agenda items.
The swearing-in and officer elections were procedural and did not include new policy direction; no separate assignments or follow-up tasks were recorded in the meeting minutes for these items.
