Mission City Council approves multiple subdivisions, permits, purchases and agreements; roundup of votes

Mission City Council unanimously approved a slate of development permits, procurement authorizations and intergovernmental agreements at its Feb. 10 regular meeting in Mission City Hall.

The council approved preliminary plats for multiple subdivisions, granted conditional-use permits for several businesses and event activities, authorized the purchase of sanitation equipment and awarded a city procurement contract for water treatment chemical supplies. The council also authorized a reimbursement agreement with the Mission Redevelopment Authority for Taylor Road right-of-way acquisition and approved an interlocal rental agreement with Hidalgo County Irrigation District No. 6. Councilmembers voted to adopt a resolution opposing Texas House Bill 1683, which would centralize certain road-and-bridge functions, after a request from the county commissioners.
