I would like to see it run better,” Cook said.
William Conroy, who said he is retired and moved to Coffey County about two years ago, described prior experience in insurance underwriting, small-business financing and contract management. He said he wanted to serve locally: “I’d like to serve, do more, do my part to keep it the really nice place to live that it is,” Conroy said.
Commissioners asked both applicants about prior attendance at hospital board meetings; neither Cook nor Conroy had previously attended meetings. Commissioners told the applicants they would be contacted after the board deliberated; the commissioners noted the hospital’s next meeting is scheduled for March 3 and that applicants would likely be notified before then.
