Commission approves $35,000 payment to L & L Construction for Atchison Sports Complex work

Atchison County commissioners on Jan. 28 approved payment of $35,000 to L & L Construction for completed work at the Atchison Sports Complex.
County staff said the invoice is one of several payments made as the complex progresses; the $35,000 request is part of the $400,000 the commission allocated for the project. A motion to approve the invoice was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote, 3–0.
Commissioners did not amend the motion and did not attach additional conditions to the disbursement. The finance director and staff confirmed the payment will be issued in line with prior partial payments made as construction milestones were met.
No further formal actions were taken on the sports complex at the meeting; the project lead is scheduled to give a project update to the commission on Feb. 18.
