Communications Director Sarah presented the community engagement quarterly report, summarizing media, digital and community-outreach activity.
Sarah said the city produced a new promotional video through Huge Productions for the "Meet Me in Arlington" program and is moving several videos from Vimeo to YouTube to broaden reach. She said the communications team is auditing the city website for ADA compliance in advance of a federal accessibility requirement and is updating TV-21 content.
The report included analytics: the city website's home page had roughly 13,000 views in the prior 90 days, with utility billing, permits and airport pages among other top pages; the city's Facebook following rose to about 13,000. Sarah said weekly newsletters have roughly 1,300–1,400 subscribers and the city YouTube channel has about 345 subscribers.
Sarah described the Meet Me in Arlington program: 330 businesses and roughly 700 products are listed; the Meet Me in Arlington Facebook and Instagram pages have about 2,000–2,700 followers. The city funds a pop-up shop and innovation-center rentals ($5,000 annual city investment) and offers business classes with the Chamber.
Parks, Arts and Recreation items included upcoming dog-park planning tied to a proposed rezoning for York Park property, an Arbor Day planting on March 8, playground improvement investigations at Terrace Park and multiple public-art projects funded by a $25,000 parks arts budget for 2025. Sarah said the Centennial Fountain restoration and other public-art projects completed in 2024 included returning the original artist to oversee restoration work.
Councilors asked for clarification about which groups maintain particular roadside signs; staff said some are maintained by parent/booster groups rather than the city. Sarah also reviewed special-event applications and summarized Hometown Holidays feedback and visitor log entries collected at the visitor center.
The presentation was informational; no final council action on the communications report is recorded in the transcript.
