Board approves consent agenda, advances school-fees schedule and adopts multiple policies

The Park City School District Board of Education voted on several routine items during the meeting.

The board approved the consent agenda, including meeting minutes, travel requests, personnel items, contracts, an RFP award and the January check registers and revenue/expenditure reports. A roll-call-style vote was sought and board members voiced “Aye” to approve the consent package.

On school fees, staff presented the FY2026 fee schedule for first reading. Key changes include a new middle-school sports fee of $100 with a spending breakdown required on the fee schedule ($40 for uniforms, $40 for camp/travel and $20 for sports equipment), an added second-occurrence deductible of $500 for lost or stolen laptops, and a 6% increase in the hourly wage charged for records/research per the salary schedule. The board approved the fees on first reading and will hold a second reading in March as required by board rule.

The board also adopted a set of policies that had been posted for the required 20-day public-comment period. The policies approved for adoption included: 02/2005 (Board of Education powers and duties), 55010 (Inventory control/use of district equipment), 9010 (Curriculum courses grades 6–8), 9075 (Promotion, retention and remediation), 9080 (Graduation requirements), 9105 (Animals in the classroom), 9106 (Service animals in schools and other buildings) and 10106 (Students with life-threatening allergies). A motion to adopt the policies was seconded and board members voiced unanimous support.
