Residents urge district to move concessions, address traffic near high school

Several residents spoke during public comment to ask the Park City School District board to reconsider locating a concession stand and adding parking on the street immediately in front of the high school.
A parent who identified herself as Shannon said she represents parents with students on athletic teams and that neighbors living across the street from the high school are concerned about placement of a concession stand along the drive in front of their homes. She cited worries about increased noise, trash and odors and asked the district to “see another placement” for the concession stand.
Another resident who said they live further down Lucky John voiced concern about increased traffic and heavy trucks using the street, noting children, walkers and dog walkers use the route daily and that speeding is already a problem. Both speakers said they had been in contact with district staff, and Shannon thanked Michael Tanner for responding to earlier communications about construction and lighting placement.
Board members and staff acknowledged the comments and said traffic management and earlier athletic master-plan items remain under discussion; board members noted some portions of the athletic master plan had not been approved and said any final traffic changes would likely involve police coordination or other traffic-control measures.
No formal action was taken during public comment; speakers were invited to submit written comments and town-hall style follow-up was discussed.
