District outlines use and partners for new community education centers

Todd Clerc, community education director for the Park City School District, told the board the district’s two new community education centers are in active use for preschool, after-school programs, adult classes and office space for multiple district staff and community partners.
Clerc said the Jeremy Ranch site houses preschool administrative offices, after-school staff and special-education preschool staff; the Paul (center name as transcribed) site includes community education staff, preschool special education, MTSS and a 504 coordinator. Clerc said custodial staff at both sites keep facilities in daily use and praised their work.
Clerc presented a list of tuition-based classes offered at both centers, including adult Spanish, yoga, storytelling, fly fishing, women’s self-defense, chess and flower arranging. He said most classes are tuition paying and are available to all ages.
The centers also host district functions and community partners, Clerc said, and he named the Ed Foundation, Park City Police, Peace House, Holy Cross Ministries, Big Brothers Big Sisters, PTO/PTA groups, YMCA, community gardens and others as users. He said the district has hosted vaccination clinics and board meetings at the centers and that community partner activity is growing.
Clerc said the district will continue to welcome partners and encouraged board members to visit the facilities.
Board members acknowledged the centers’ use and noted culinary students also take advantage of the space.
