CHEYENNE — On Feb. 11, 2025, the Wyoming Senate received a message from the House of Representatives and heard committee reports that recommended the Senate pass amended versions of two House bills.
The House message, read into the record, informed the Senate that the House “has adopted the following house rule as part of the permanent house rules of the 68th Wyoming State Legislature general session,” and closed with the procedural phrase, “Dispensing with further reading,” signed by Katie Talbot, House chief clerk.
Committee reports returned two House bills to the Senate floor with recommendations. Committee No. 6 (Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources) reported on House Bill 45, described in the committee report as “removing authors as protected animals,” and recommended the bill "do pass amended." The committee report recorded Aye votes from senators listed as Hicks, Jones, Landon and Schuler, with Senator Landon identified as chairman.
Committee No. 8 (Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs) reported on House Bill 23, described in the report as "surrender driver's license repeal (engrossed)," and likewise recommended the bill "do pass amended." The committee report listed Senators Anderson, Brennan, Cooper and Cole as voting Aye; Senator Pappas was recorded as excused. Senator Cooper was identified as acting chair for that report.
No final Senate floor votes on either bill were taken during the portion of the session in this transcript. After committee reports and announcements, a senator moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025; the motion was agreed to by voice vote and the Senate recessed.
The floor record also included brief announcements about caucus meetings and legislative receptions; those items were informational and did not alter the status of the bills reported back by committees.
