Planning Board approves mixed-use development (MCD) at 111 Old South Road

The Nantucket Planning Board on Feb. 6 approved a mixed-use-commercial development (MCD) application for 111 Old South Road that will include office space, contractor workshop space and two second-floor apartments.
Attorney John Brescher spoke for the applicant, and engineer Ryan Maxwell (on-line) provided technical information. The applicant submitted additional stormwater calculations and documentation addressing board questions from a prior meeting. The board’s staff report and Ed Pesci’s engineering comments were included in the packet and, after reviewing the supplemental materials, board members said their concerns had been addressed.
Emily Molden of the Nantucket Land and Water Council confirmed the applicant proposed to meet the 20% open-space requirement; the applicant and engineer confirmed that the open-space target and stormwater documentation had been provided.
After closing the hearing, the board voted to approve the application with the findings and staff-recommended conditions recorded in the decision.
