Council awards pump-station wet-well cleaning contract to Chesapeake Environmental Services

The Salisbury City Council voted Feb. 10 to award an annual contract for pump-station wet-well cleaning to Chesapeake Environmental Services LLC of Delmar, Md., following the city procurement process.
Procurement Director Jennifer Miller told the council the invitation to bid (ITB-25-110) was publicly posted, opened on Jan. 3, 2025, and drew three bids. The city recommended Chesapeake Environmental Services as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and estimated annual costs at about $95,100.
The council motion to award the contract carried after the roll call vote in legislative session. Miller said the contract will provide all labor, equipment and materials for cleaning pump-station wet wells and may be renewed annually for up to two additional years under the terms described in the procurement packet.
Costs will be paid from the department of water works account cited in the packet; staff said the city followed required bidding practices as set in the Salisbury Charter and municipal code.
