Board to consider Montgomery County IU budget on Feb. 24; district contribution ~ $80,000

Mr. Stone reported that the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) operating budget requires annual board approval by member districts and said the Hatboro‑Horsham contribution for the next year is approximately $80,000, slightly above last year’s $77,000 contribution.
Stone said the MCIU contribution covers the IU’s overhead for services that member districts may purchase on a fee‑for‑service basis, and that most MCIU programs are fee driven. He recommended that the board approve the MCIU budget at the Feb. 24 legislative meeting; no vote was taken at the Feb. 10 work session.
