Human Services committee raises 13 concepts on Medicaid, nursing homes, food security and disability services; votes recorded but held open

The Connecticut General Assembly Committee on Human Services met Feb. 11 and took roll-call votes to raise 13 legislative concepts ranging from expanding long-term care options for Medicaid beneficiaries to a commission to study a “Husky for All” single-payer proposal; the clerk recorded votes for each item but the committee left the official votes open for completion later.

Committee members front‑loaded debate and repeatedly raised procedural objections. Representative Case said, “there was no screening taking place for this meeting… Nonpartisan staff was not involved in vetting and going through these bills,” and said he would vote no on several items because the committee had not followed its usual pre‑meeting screening process.
