The board passed the bathroom policy under emergency and removed language the board said could create a disciplinary loophole.
Superintendent Craig Heath told the board the language in the proposed policies came from Neola, guidance from the Office for Civil Rights and other statewide sources; he said his administration’s goals were to ensure legal compliance, reduce litigation risk and protect district finances. “The language as it is presented hits those 3 criteria,” Superintendent Craig Heath said.
