Commissioners moved to place a previously discussed letter of support for the Mount St. Helens Institute on the consent agenda and approved sending the letter to the Legislature.
The Mount St. Helens Institute previously presented to commissioners in a workshop, asking for support to increase student capacity at its outdoor education programs. Commissioners said the program uses the former visitor center for housing and that limited on-site lodging constrains student numbers; the letter asks the county’s legislative delegation to consider the institute’s expansion request.
