The Quincy City Zoning Board of Appeals denied an application for 1 Edwin Street after the applicant did not appear for a scheduled hearing.
Chairman Martin Akins presided over the hearing and called for a vote after the applicant failed to show. "They didn't show up at the last meeting. They were told to show up at this meeting and they're not here," Akins said as the board moved to deny the case.
The board made the motion to deny the application for CBA 24 55 and conducted a voice vote. On the motion, the chair asked for those in favor; the board responded "Aye," and the motion was recorded as denied.
The denial was entered after the board concluded the applicant had three prior opportunities to appear and had not complied with the hearing schedule. No further evidence or testimony was taken because no representative was present.
The ZBA clerk was directed to record the denial and prepare the notices necessary to close the file.
The case closed with no further action scheduled on the record.
