Bethel Park Council approves slate of appointments, contracts and capital purchases in unanimous vote

The Bethel Park City Council unanimously approved a package of appointments, contract payments, capital purchases and records actions during its regular meeting on Feb. 10, 2025.

The council voted 7–0 on all items recorded in the meeting, including appointments to boards and commissions, adoption of records-disposition and ordinance items, and multiple capital and operating pay applications for public works, police equipment and community facilities.

Key approvals included the appointment of Brad Flume to the Planning and Zoning Commission (term to 12/31/2025) and Clarence Hornack to the Civil Service Commission (term to 12/31/2026); acceptance of resignations from the Shade Tree Commission (Elizabeth Webb) and the Parks and Recreation Board (Michael Janicek); and authorization of payments and purchases ranging from an IT workstation refresh to a $90,500 HVAC purchase for the community center gymnasium.

The council also approved multiple project-related payments and change orders for stormwater repairs, Elm Tree Park stormwater improvements, the 2024 road program, Millennium Park field lighting, the municipal building ADA sidewalk, demolition of a blighted property (3204 Comanche Road), and other maintenance and capital projects.…
