Board approves contract with Bionomic Services to remove lagoon biosolids at North Harnett wastewater plant

Project staff said they worked with an engineer and contractor to identify cost-saving alternatives and had removed as much water from the lagoon as possible. Staff described the next phase as extracting deeper layers of solids and said, because of large volumes and time constraints, a specialized vendor was the preferred method. Project contingency funds were available to cover the work.
