To allow time for review and the drafting of amendments, councilors tentatively set committee‑of‑the‑whole meetings for Monday, Feb. 24; Tuesday, Feb. 25; and Wednesday, Feb. 26, with a special council meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. for introduction of any budget amendments.
Speakers asked that the dates be treated as tentative to ensure the council can act promptly if the E & A board forwards the budget earlier than typical. Multiple members noted the benefit of scheduling in advance so the public and councilors can prepare for amendment drafting and hearings.
