The board also flagged a resolution about the state report-card/accountability metrics (02/1300), saying they prefer the report card to include demographic and graduation information rather than a single achievement-only metric; that specific item was discussed for possible opposition.
After a period of discussion the board authorized its delegate to vote on the WASB resolutions and to carry the board’s feedback to the convention. A small number of trustees recorded opposition to particular amendments during the meeting; the board’s delegate was authorized to represent the district at the WASB convention and to vote in accordance with the guidance provided by the board.
The board asked that the delegate prioritize maintaining multi-metric accountability and expressed concerns about reducing teacher licensure requirements and expanding state-funded 3‑K without narrower targeting to families with demonstrated need.
