Bethel Park council approves multiple budgets, capital purchases and appointments in unanimous votes

The Municipality of Bethel Park council unanimously approved a series of contracts, budgeted purchases, resolutions and appointments during its meeting, including technology upgrades, public-safety equipment, stormwater and roadwork payments, and several board appointments and resignations.

The council recorded a series of motions and roll-call votes, all recorded as carrying 7–0. Key approved items included an IT workstation refresh ($16,460 to replace 10 HP workstations); a recurring $1,000-per-month payment for a police file server hosted in Microsoft Azure; replacement of 11 police car mobile data terminals for $86,995; purchase of 10 AED units for $19,990; and a $90,500 purchase of a 40-ton DX HVAC cooling system for the community center gym paid from reserves. The council also approved multiple stormwater and public-works payments and change orders, payments to consultants and contractors for Elm Tree Park stormwater improvements, demolition of a blighted property, and final payments on sewer and road contracts.

The meeting included formal appointments and resignations: Brad Flume was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission (term to expire 12/31/2025) and Clarence Hornack was appointed to the (transcript) Veil Service Commission (term to expire 12/31/2026). Council accepted the resignations of Elizabeth Webb from the Shade Tree Commission and Michael Janicek from the Parks and Recreation Board. The council also approved several resolutions and an ordinance, including a records-disposition resolution, an open-records-officer appointment, and an ordinance to establish alternate members of the Civil Service Commission.
