FLAGLER COUNTY — The Flagler County Board of County Commissioners on Feb. 10 unanimously approved a series of proclamations recognizing public-safety workers and community programs and reappointed a member to the county's Land Acquisition Committee.
The board approved proclamations designating February 2025 as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and Black History Month; Feb. 10 as School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day; Feb. 15 as School Resource Officer Appreciation Day; Feb. 16 as A1A All American Road Day; and March 1–31 as Flagler Reads Together. Each proclamation was presented by program representatives or county staff and adopted after brief remarks.
The board also confirmed a reappointment to the Land Acquisition Committee, keeping Brynn Newton in her seat. Charles Cowart, who had applied for the opening, addressed the board but commissioners voted to retain Newton.
