Homewood council approves beautification plan, equipment purchase and event funding in unanimous votes

- Resolution No. 25-23 — Authorization for mayor to sign contract and pay FY24–25 appropriation for “Thunder On The Mountain” July 4 fireworks; budgeted and approved 10–0.
- Resolution No. 25-24 — Sidewalk-sale permit for Track Shack (storefront tents in the right-of-way, Feb. 20–22). Approved 10–0 with standard indemnification to be signed by the business.
- Voucher approval — Vouchers for the period 01/28/2025–02/10/2025 were reviewed and approved (voice/roll as recorded; committee review noted).
Most items came to the council with committee recommendations; multiple presenters noted the committee votes were unanimous. Several measures were budgeted items requiring only council authorization to execute vendor contracts or release funds.
Details and clarifications: the vacuum truck opportunity arose because another municipality declined to keep an ordered unit, giving Homewood a chance to acquire it without the long lead time to order new. The Track Shack sidewalk sale requires an indemnification agreement from the business. The Beautification Plan vendor is identified in committee minutes as Lebron, McNair & Associates (LMA).
