The City of Homewood City Council on Feb. 10 approved a resolution to create a Homewood Beautification Plan and to engage Lebron McNair and Associates (LMA) as the consultant. The Finance Committee had voted 4–0 to recommend LMA.
Councilors discussed the recommendation in committee and there were no questions during the floor vote; the council approved the resolution unanimously. The council recorded the measure as resolution number 25-18.
Councilor Walton reported the committee action on the item, saying the committee voted 4–0 to recommend LMA and that the motion in committee was made by Councilor Walton and seconded by Councilor Pardon. Councilors and the mayor described the plan and the new Beautification Board as a step toward a coordinated approach to streetscape and public-space improvements.
No detailed budget breakdown was read into the record at the time of the vote; the committee report and the consultant recommendation were included in committee materials.
