One council member said it would be helpful to make the resolution easily available and to communicate the department’s position, noting that Sheriff Sanders and Thurston County had posted public statements. The committee discussed preparing a public reminder and scheduling a staff update for the next meeting; staff agreed to provide the resolution and to consider more direct public communications.
