Children's Trust staff report on resource guide, conference takeaways and CARES grant launch; board to approve grant reviewers in March

Lindsay told trustees staff are scheduling annual ethics training for board members and that Tammy is coordinating an online module. Staff reported they are working with a local printing company to produce a new resource guide with a target distribution in May and that they may print additional runs if demand requires it.
Lindsay and Michael summarized a recent national conference the staff attended, citing speakers on victim advocacy, unity, bullying prevention and fatherhood initiatives. "It was a major reminder of what we're here to do," Lindsay said, adding staff returned with leadership training and ideas that could be adapted locally.
On grants, staff said the CARES grant application went live Jan. 30 with an online Q&A session for applicants and that technical assistance will be available through the trust’s main office and info@EscambiaChildrensTrust.org. Staff also asked the board to approve a panel of community reviewers at the March meeting for in‑person scoring; the in‑person review day for applicants was announced as April 20, with scoring and recommendation work scheduled for March 24.
Staff also reported that the program committee and staff had reviewed Year 3 out-of-school-time budgets and that one budget amendment for a grantee (Omega Lamplighters) will come to the March meeting for ratification; staff said the grantee would be able to bill appropriately until the board acts.
Ending: staff asked the board to recruit community reviewers and to review upcoming dates; staff will return to the March board meeting with a proposed reviewer panel and any budget amendment requests.
