As a result the board asked county staff to draft a formal letter to Central Iowa requesting (1) copies of the signed 2018 intergovernmental agreement and any subsequent amendments, (2) a detailed price schedule explaining the $250 versus $400/day line items and any surcharge rules when a county exceeds pre‑purchased bed days, and (3) itemized invoices that identify the services behind each charge. Staff said they would circulate a draft of the letter to supervisors before sending it and would continue to discuss alternative placement options with nearby facilities.
