Representative Roberts, who presented the bill, called it “a really simple bill, mostly clean up language” and said the measure would require MDT members to use a database that already exists, so there is no physical impact. Roberts also moved the bill for adoption and the committee approved it without debate.
Bridal Grasner and Marsha Johnson of the OCCY were introduced during the discussion but did not add substantive changes on the record. The committee chair recorded the vote as five ayes and zero nays and declared HB 1863 passed out of committee.
