Pampa recognizes city and court clerks for professional certifications

The Pampa City Commission recognized three city employees for professional certifications awarded by state organizations.
City Secretary Barbara Stucker and Deputy City Secretary Kimberly Hughes completed the education requirements and were awarded certificates as Texas Registered Municipal Clerks on Jan. 23 in Round Rock, the commission said. City materials presented at the meeting said the certification requires approximately 200 hours of individual home study across a four‑course curriculum and attendance at about 96 hours of professional development seminars; the program is recognized under the Texas Local Government Code.
Municipal Court Clerk Cindy Silva received a Level 1 clerk certification from the Texas Court Clerks Association in conjunction with the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center and Texas State University. The commission said the Level 1 credential requires 40 hours of education and passage of an exam covering charging, pretrial and trial processes, traffic law and court professionalism. Silva has worked in the municipal court for 20 years.
Mayor Pro Tem and other commissioners applauded the employees’ professional accomplishments and presented certificates.
