Akron Public Schools staff told the board that the district finalized a draft request for qualifications (RFQ) to select an architectural and design firm for the North High School construction project.
Mr. Keenan, representing the district's facilities team, said the selection committee met to discuss criteria and finalize the RFQ with outside counsel. The RFQ will be posted Friday, Feb. 14, will remain open for 30 days to accept statements of qualifications, and the district will then review submissions and rank firms for negotiation.
The board was not asked to vote on the RFQ as a standalone item during the meeting; staff said a top-ranked firm will be negotiated with and a negotiated contract may be brought forward for board approval in March.
