Traffic & Parking Commission: agenda, minutes and consent items approved; several items passed by voice vote

The Traffic & Parking Commission approved the meeting agenda, adopted the Jan. 13, 2025 meeting minutes, approved the consent agenda (which included a vehicle-size restriction and removal of parking restrictions on Hancock Street), and passed several regular-agenda items by voice vote.

At the start of the meeting the chair read an appeal process notice advising that decisions of the commission may be appealed to the Davidson County Chancery or Circuit Court within 60 days. The commission then approved the agenda on a motion and voice vote.

The commission approved the Jan. 13, 2025 meeting minutes on a motion and voice vote. The consent agenda was approved without items pulled for discussion. Consent items included: authorization of a vehicle size restriction (no trucks over 8 tons on Westchester Drive between Dickerson Pike and Belshire Drive, requested by a resident) and removal of existing parking restrictions on both sides of Hancock Street between Joseph Avenue and Meridian Street (requested by Council Member Parker).

Subsequent regular-agenda motions that passed by voice vote included the authorization for a new traffic signal at 1100 Springfield Highway (item 6.1), revocation of a valet/paid zone at 1418 Church Street (item 6.2), and the deferral of the Gulch vending-restriction item to August 2025 (item 7.1). The meeting ended after item 10 with a motion to adjourn.

Most motions were approved by voice vote; the meeting audio does not record roll-call tallies for these votes. Where a permit or expiry date was discussed (valet permit), staff noted the valet permit ended in February 2024.
