Council Confirms Ronald Turner to Meridian Public School Board

Turner, who spoke after the council moved the item, described more than 25 years of involvement with the school district through his four children and said he will continue to work with Superintendent Dr. Amy Carter and district staff to advance five district goals including college and career readiness, safe and healthy school environments, recruiting and retaining staff, stronger community relationships and financial balance.
Turner also noted his family’s continued ties to Meridian schools and said the Meridian Housing Authority has provided scholarships for Meridian High students. Council members spoke in support before the roll call that confirmed his appointment.
The confirmation was moved and seconded on the routine agenda and approved with the council voice vote.
