Council approves call for artists for new community center mural; selection to include staff and art ambassadors

Staff said artists need not be city residents but submissions should show time spent in Dana Point and familiarity with local character. Finalist designs will be returned to council for approval prior to installation.
Mayor Pro Tem Gabbard suggested including an acknowledgment or tribute to indigenous peoples in submissions; councilmembers encouraged broad participation. Staff said they would bring finalists back to the council for final approval.
