Votes at a glance: Moorhead council passes consent agenda, minutes and authorizes executive session

At the Feb. 10 Moorhead City Council meeting the following formal actions were recorded in the public transcript:

• Consent agenda: Council Member Heather Niesmeyer moved to approve the consent agenda and Council Member Deb White seconded. The mayor announced the consent agenda passed on a voice vote.

• Approval of minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of Jan. 27, 2025 was made (mover identified as McDougall in the transcript) and seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.

• Resolution — Fire department accreditation: Council Member Deb White moved and Council Member Heather Niesmeyer seconded a resolution authorizing an agreement with the Center for Public Safety Excellence to pursue accreditation of the Moorhead Fire Department. • Executive session: The council moved into a closed executive session "pursuant to Minnesota statute 13 d 0.053 a for the purpose of conducting the city manager's annual performance evaluation." The transcript records a motion and a second to enter executive session and a subsequent return to open session; the vote for the executive session was recorded as passed (voice vote). The motion-maker and seconder for the executive session were not clearly identified in the public portion of the transcript.
