Neary Building Committee declines to dissolve sustainability subcommittee for now

Members asked sustainability subcommittee leaders whether they should dissolve the subcommittee; consultants and some committee members recommended keeping it in place through detailed design.
At its Feb. 10 meeting the Neary Building Committee briefly considered whether to dissolve the sustainability subcommittee. Roger, who asked the question, noted the subcommittee had produced two sets of minutes (Nov. 6 and Jan. 2) and requested the full committee approve them; the committee approved those minutes on a roll-call vote that carried on the three subcommittee-member votes while other full-committee members abstained.
Members of the Skanska and Arrowstreet team and several committee members said they were still learning from sustainability-focused meetings and recommended that the subcommittee remain available during the detailed-design phase in case targeted sustainability conversations are needed. No motion to dissolve the subcommittee was put forward or voted; the subcommittee therefore remains in place.
The committee also approved the two sets of subcommittee minutes for inclusion in the project record.
