Madam Clerk read a gubernatorial item, saying, “Governor's message number 640 corrects the term for the nomination in governor's message number 558.” She also announced that “Governor's message number 641 to 644 are referred in accordance with the referrals listed on the order of the day.”
A motion that “69 pass first reading by title and be referred to committee” was moved and seconded. The Senate president said, “It's been moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? Any objections? If not, the motion is carried.” The motion was carried without recorded roll-call votes.
Senator Mike Gabbard used appointed personal privilege to note brief ceremonial items in the gallery, and introduced guests, including Director Ryan Yamane of the Department of Human Services and retired Rear Admiral Ken Moritsugu and his spouse Lisa Corey.
Senator Ron Wakai moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 11:30 a.m. tomorrow; Senator DeCorte seconded the motion. The Senate president said, “If there are no objections from the members, the Senate will stand adjourned until 11:30AM tomorrow.”
