The Tehachapi City Council on Tuesday unanimously reappointed Mary Anne Paciello to the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District board, filling a four-year term set to expire Feb. 2, 2029.
Paciello, who told the council she has served on the district board for four years and was elected chair last year, asked for the council’s support during a public appearance before the vote. “I’ve been serving on the board…Last year, I was elected to be the board chair, and I thoroughly enjoyed that position,” Paciello said.
City staff said the council received a single application for the vacancy and that applicants must be Tehachapi residents. After the nomination, council members voted 4-0 to approve the appointment.
Council members praised Paciello’s recent work. “You’re doing a great job and I appreciate your service to our community,” one council member said during the meeting.
The council’s action reinstates Paciello to the district board; no other formal conditions or amendments were attached to the appointment.
The reappointment was handled during the city clerk’s reports portion of the meeting and occurred before the council moved on to other agenda items.
