A staff member told the council Granicus "will allow us to track our short term rentals to bring them into compliance, with the lodging taxes and that we haven't been collecting," and said the EDC requires participation. The one-year subscription price listed in the agenda was $32,018.
Council members discussed the broader effort to identify unlicensed short-term rentals and collect back taxes. Staff described Granicus as a tool to support an ongoing enforcement and compliance initiative led by finance and development partners.
The purchase order for Granicus was included among approved items at the pre-meeting. Staff said the software is a step toward ensuring short-term rental operators pay required taxes and obtain business licenses.
