Representative Templo introduced the guests, naming Maribel Balajai as the head diplomat serving the San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte area and noting historical ties between Ilocos Norte and Hawaii, including descendants of plantation workers. Templo also introduced representatives of a national hometown organization identified on the floor as the United Sun Nicolaians USA and named Rosemary Kayanan Aquino, Kathy Marcos Kayanan, Pamela Espejo and Mary Jane Sales as visitors.
Representative Tam introduced Cameron Hurt from Common Cause earlier in the session; Representative Iwamoto later introduced Eduardo Hernandez, the advocacy director for the Hawaii Bicycling League. Members applauded and welcomed the visitors and a meet-and-greet for the Filipino Caucus was announced for 1:00 p.m. in room 423.
