District staff presented a midyear summary of the board’s strategic work, reporting all goals are on track and providing a high-level status update across initiatives.
“As you can see, we have kind of marked where we're at as far as the level of progress made. Each of them so far are on track and we are, optimistic for the completion by the end of the year,” a staff member said. The presentation was a summary intended to encapsulate progress to date; the board did not take formal action on the strategic items.
Staff also noted February marks Career Technical Education (CTE) month. A presenter reported the district’s local TCAT-based program is free to CMCSS families, that applications for some CTE offerings are open through Feb. 14 and that as of the report approximately 150 applications had been received. The presenter reminded families that open enrollment for schools of choice remains open and that over 30 programs of study are available districtwide; parents may request transfers if space is available.
Staff indicated more details about school choice would be shared at the formal meeting later in the month. Mr. Lanier was acknowledged as the recipient of the presenter’s report conclusion.
