Montgomery County commission approves consent agenda including budget amendment and opioid-abatement appropriation

The Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners on Feb. 10 approved its consent agenda, including several resolutions and routine items, by a 20-0 vote.

Commissioner Beale moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Ray seconded. The consent agenda as read by the clerk listed: Resolution 25-2-1 to retain a delinquent tax attorney for tax year 2023; Resolution 25-2-2 amending the fiscal year 2025 budget of Montgomery County, Tennessee; Resolution 25-2-3 appropriating funds for opioid abatement settlement funds; adoption of commission minutes dated Jan. 13, 2025; the county clerk's report and notary list; county mayor appointments and nominations; and the highway department road list dated Jan. 1, 2025. The clerk recorded the vote as 20 yeses, 0 nos, 0 abstentions.

The meeting record shows no public comments were registered for the session and contains routine reports filed by county departments, including a Clarksville–Montgomery County Regional Airport quarterly report for the second quarter of FY25 and capital projects quarterly construction updates. During announcements, the commission publicized a Black History Month event hosted by the Clarksville–Montgomery County Library on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Commissioner Leverett, in brief remarks during announcements, said, "I just want to say, commissioners, we did it. We beat our own record. 6 0 4." The transcript does not clarify what "6 0 4" refers to.
