Warrick County School Corporation board members on Feb. 10 approved routine business items, several personnel actions, donations and a construction change order during a regularly scheduled meeting at the Central Services Building.
The board voted to approve the minutes of the Jan. 27, 2025 meeting and to sign the claims docket for Feb. 10, 2025. The board also approved the reappointment of Christy Stutzman to the Booneville Warrick County Public Library Board for a term beginning Feb. 10, 2025 and ending Feb. 10, 2029; named Amy Smith as corporation treasurer and Jasmine Donnelly as deputy treasurer for 2025; accepted a change order related to additional support steel for a 250‑ton chiller at Castle High School; approved several donations totaling multiple thousand dollars to area schools; and approved multiple personnel items including hires, leaves, transfers, resignations and retirements.
Votes were taken by roll call on each motion. The routine business motion passed on an affirmative roll call. The reappointment of Christy Stutzman carried with one abstention noted during the roll call. The motion naming Amy Smith and Jasmine Donnelly passed by roll call. The board accepted the Dye Brothers Construction change order for additional steel at Castle High School (not‑to‑exceed amount not specified in the meeting packet) with 3 I Design agreeing to assume responsibility for a portion of the cost and to pay 15% of the cost as markup. Donations approved included a $5,000 gift from Orion New Generation LLC to Oakdale Elementary School for snacks and the backpack program; a $500 donation from the Hart Township Trustee to the Tecumseh Christmas Fund at Tecumseh High School; and an $852.50 donation through CenterPoint’s nevity program for the Tecumseh Future Brave basketball program.
Personnel approvals included certified and noncertified hires for the 2025–26 school year, multiple leaves of absence, early returns from leave, transfers and accepted resignations. The board also accepted retirements from Barry Hughes, special education teacher at Newburgh Elementary School (effective June 1, 2025), and Lynn Pierce, principal at Logan Elementary School (effective June 6, 2025).
The board president called each item in the order presented and the motions were moved and seconded from the dais before roll call votes. No items were tabled or failed.
