Autonomous scrubber and sweeper: Facilities staff proposed purchasing a Cinnabot autonomous sweeper and scrubber through a PureZone dealer/cooperative (Emporia State University cooperative) at a combined price of $73,316.25 for plant facilities. Brad and facilities staff described the machines' capabilities: the sweeper can cover up to ~21,388 sq ft in a continuous sweep or up to 68,000 sq ft per hour in a roaming trash-collection mode, with maximum run times and automatic charging return; the scrubber was quoted at $39,900 with an approximate 23,000 sq ft hourly coverage and a six-hour run time. Staff noted consumable maintenance costs around $1,500 annually and said vendor training and programming would be provided.
Plim Elementary fire alarm: Brandon Anderson reported a Davis proposal to replace an antiquated fire-alarm system at Plim Elementary with a quote of $67,790; the item is on the long-range facilities plan, and staff suggested spring break as a potential window for installation.
Horsgood HVAC: The board authorized $85,000 for design and bidding of the Horsgood Middle School HVAC project (DMCN), moving that project forward in the district's long-range plan.
Nut Graf: The facilities discussion combined procurement choices (playground vendor selection), equipment investments to mitigate staffing and maintenance issues (robotic sweepers/scrubbers), near-term safety-related work (fire-alarm replacement) and a formal design authorization for a major HVAC project.
