City Manager Dustin Lewis and staff reviewed South Jordan councilmember appointments to external boards and internal commissions at the council study meeting and flagged several vacancies for council attention.

Lewis noted a current vacancy on the planning commission in District 3 (Council member Shelton's district) and said staff has received applications and expects to forward a recommendation through the normal process. He told the council he would circulate applicants' resumes for liaisons to review.

Lewis also said the arts council has two current vacancies (one assigned to the mayor's appointments and one to Council member Harris) and that he had met two residents who expressed interest; both are South Jordan residents and gave permission to share their materials. On the senior advisory committee, Lewis said six vacancies exist; staff can accept applications and present recommendations as openings arise.

Other standing appointments and liaisons were reviewed for confirmation or minor updates. Mayor Dawn Ramsey and council members were listed for their usual roles on regional bodies and internal committees; Lewis said he would provide an updated consolidated list of city and external board assignments (including non‑city specific regional boards) so council members could track representation and upcoming meetings.

The council asked staff to continue to share candidate materials by email for council review and to proceed with the usual appointment process for the planning commission vacancy when a candidate is recommended.
