Superintendent Anna Stubblefield and district staff previously briefed the board on the bond proceeds at a special meeting and during the recent campaign, and district leaders thanked voters and Wyandotte County for approving the bond measure.
The board voted to purchase Curriculum Associates’ i‑Ready math expansion for grades 6–8 for $1,295,457.09 using the district’s curriculum and instruction budget. Cole Amaya, who presented the item, said the vendor’s online family resources and digital lessons are part of the product and that principals and teachers are the primary points of contact for parents needing help accessing the materials.
Separately the board approved OpenSciEd’s high‑school biology materials for $91,704.14, and accepted staff descriptions that the curriculum is publicly available online and will be implemented by district teachers and contracted providers as part of regular instruction.
The board also authorized the purchase of 44 VAV boxes from Servpro of Lee’s Summit for Arrowhead Middle School for $459,648. Wayne Correll told the board the project will be funded using bond investment revenue and that the district expects to order the equipment in time for spring‑break installation; board members requested a fund‑balance report for that revenue stream.
