Facilities and athletics: boundary/capacity master plan likely delayed to fall 2026 after workshop

Burke Jones, director of operations and chair of the facilities and partnerships committee, told the board Feb. 10 that athletics leaders identified a range of facility needs — more tennis courts, shared baseball/softball complexes, expanded weight rooms, additional wrestling spaces to support growing girls wrestling — that will feed into the district’s boundary and capacity master plan.
Jones said the committee’s original goal of completing a master plan by June 2025 is no longer realistic. After work with the consultant RSP and plans for an upcoming Feb. 20 board workshop, the committee now projects a completion date near September 2026. Board members agreed the timeline should be refined after the workshop and suggested bringing a discussion or action item to a future meeting to finalize a target date and milestones.
Jones asked the board whether to place a timeline-update item on a future agenda and the board gave consent to do so; no final vote on the master plan was recorded at the Feb. 10 meeting.
