The state House approved a series of procedural motions without objection, including a motion to allow committees to meet during the balance of the day and a motion to adjourn until Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
Majority Floor Leader Pastumas moved to excuse absent members and to proceed to the order of motions and resolutions; both motions were adopted "without objection, so ordered." Pastumas also moved that "committees be given leave to meet during the balance of today's session," and that motion was approved the same way. The clerk opened the board for attendance and reported a quorum was present.
The announcements included caucus notices from Republican and Democratic members and a reminder from Pastumas that "there will be no further voting today when the House adjourns." The House was declared to stand at ease at the call of the chair.
The meeting contained only procedural items and did not include substantive policy debate or recorded roll-call votes on bills during the transcripted portion.
Adjournment is set for Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., and committee meetings were permitted to proceed during the remainder of the session day.
